The Humane Society of Douglas County, Inc. (HSDC) proudly presents your Lake Superior Ice Festival Canine King & Queen Contest, Felines of the Festival Contest, and Lord & Lady of the Festival Contest!
HSDC is excited to be part of the 2024 Lake Superior Ice Festival! We have three categories again this year: Canine King & Queen featuring dogs only, Felines of the Festival featuring cats only, and Lord & Lady of the Festival featuring ALL other pets!
To submit an entry for your pet(s) please click on the registration button at the top of the contest page: https://IceFest2024HSDC.givesmart.com. Registration is open from January 1st – January 18th for a fee of $5 per entrant. You will be asked to submit 1-3 pictures that capture your pet’s fanciest side and answer some paw-some questions to help our community vote for this year’s “Canine King & Queen”, “Felines of the Festival” and “Lord & Lady of the Festival”.
The male and the female from each of the three categories with the most votes will be this years’ winners.
Voting will commence at 8 AM on January 19th, 2024 and will end at 9 PM on January 22nd, 2024 for a fee of $1 per vote. Make sure you share your pets voting link, which will be located on each pets profile page. Consider creating a Champions Page where you can set a goal amount and easily share your pets direct voting link on social media, via email, and through text to all your family and friends!
Canine winners will be crowned on Saturday, January 27th, 2024 at 12:00 PM (noon) at Fairlawn Mansion! All contestants are invited to join in the fun to watch the Coronation Ceremony which will include assistance from the Sterling Silver Dance Studio Princesses! If your canine wins this contest it is expected that you and your furry best friend will be at the ceremony. Due to the cold temperatures during this event the Felines and Lord & Lady category winners are not expected to attend. We do ask that the Felines and Lord & Lady winners owners are in attendance at the 12:00 PM (noon) Coronation Ceremony to receive their pets prizes!
The Coronation Ceremony will be held on Saturday, January 27th, 2024 at Noon at Fairlawn Museum. We suggest arriving early to get a good parking spot. Stop by and see us, we would love to meet all our contestants!
Proceeds from this event will help the Humane Society of Douglas County, Inc. continue to provide essential life-saving care to the lost, homeless, and abandoned animals of Douglas County.
